He felt as if an axe was being slowly pushed into his skull, getting deeper and deeper into its cavity, slowly slicing his brain into half. That drinking competition. Man, it was insane. In fact, even Cain wasn't sure whether he had won or not. He had collapsed midway through, near the very end. He had lost track of everything, then. He could not even remember what had happened after he took his first drink. Had it really been that bad? He had checked his belongings when he had woken up in the middle of an alley, and none seemed to be missing. Which was a great relief. Being still an adventurer and no longer within the walls of his home of Lyneel Kingdom, he had no place to keep his valuables at. He was pretty much homeless, here. He wandered the streets, then, his footsteps sluggish as he glanced up sleepily, his blue eyes lifelessly staring into space. Hangovers. They were never a nice sensation. Cain would stop once again, as he took a deep breathe, trying to straighten himself. Well, if he was going to continue looking for a way to travel the Blues, it would be best if he started early. That meant that he would have to find a way to get rid of this damn hangover. He glanced around, slowly, before finally letting the scent of familiar coffee creep into his nose. A soft moan escaped his lips, as the flavour streaked up his nose, igniting his senses. Coffee. That was definitely a good way to handle hangovers. Turning on the heels of his shoes, he turned towards the coffee stand, and started to trudge towards it. Coffee. Coffee. Coff- Ah, the absent-minded blonde found himself stepping to the side, as his waist collided with a table of a woman. Though, this part of town seemed to be less noble and more shady than the others. Perhaps it was why she had stayed for so long. Only having planned to stay one night at a tavern, she'd been here for three days already. It wasn't really that she lacked the motivation, but more so that she didn't want to face more people looking down their nose at her. She couldn't cause any commotion. She couldn't afford to get arrested. So the lone pirate was being on her best behavior. And that in itself was still not "good" behavior. Trinity wasn't a socializer. She didn't consciously try to make friends. She didn't mind being on her own, really. She was tough enough to handle whatever came her way. Well. Not really, but still. Sighing inaudibly, Trinity sat down at a small table in a coffee shop. Her attire was rather unique and eye-catching, though she was used to it by now. It was almost a like a jumper, but without sleeves and pant legs. Simple shorts connected to a vest-like shirt that exposed most of her stomach but none of her cleavage. Under her bright red bangs, she wore a headband across her forehead. And on her hands were matching dark maroon fingerless gloves. Trinity poked at her coffee cake but didn't really feel like eating it. She moved to grab her coffee cup, but it was subsequently knocked over. As the blonde steadied the table, the coffee splashed out and the cup rolled onto the floor, shattering. Trinity jumped up instinctively and poised her fist in the air, ready to punch Cain in the face. But when he made no move to attack, she realized it was an honest mistake. The young woman lowered her fist and shifted her eyes to the broken cup on the ground. "Just watch it."

Cain gulped softly to himself as he glanced towards the owner, who had gotten up, hands raised and obviously poised to strike. Cain leaned back, bringing one arm up, his palm facing hers in an attempt to catch it as it came. However, it never did. And Cain raised an eyebrow in curiousity, as he glanced over his own arm, staring at her direction. "Just watch it." Wow, just like that? Being in this neighbourhood, even in a place like this, Cain would have expected a slight bit of repercussion, but all he had received was a warning. This was unexpected. He lowered his arm, before glancing down at the spilled coffee on the floor. He blinked a few times, trying to straighten his head, the hangover causing him to get a small case of nausea. He turned back to her, scratching the back of his head with a reraised right hand. "Uhm, sorry about that. I'll make it up to you." Was Cain actually this nice? Well, not entirely. After all, he himself was being a bit grumpy due to the hangover, but something had changed him. And it was obvious enough what it was. It would have been her beauty, for before him sat an alluring red-head. Cain would certainly not miss this chance to enjoy her company, even if it were for a moment. Even if he had to suck his frustration up. "I can buy another one, if you'd like." But it wasn't that she was an understanding and forgiving person. It was more along the lines of 'good behavior, good behavior, good behavior' running through her mind. Any other time, she would've socked him. She really did want to punch him now. He probably thought she was some pussy who was intimidated by tall and well-built men. Pft. She could take him and lay him out in two seconds flat. But as he smiled politely and offered to buy her a cup, she raised her eyebrows in amusement and let out a disbelieving and cynical chuckle. One of the waitresses approached the table with a rag, and Trinity snatched it from her before telling her to not worry about it with a harsh tone. She sounded rude, but in reality this was her version of being nice. Trinity knew that low-class citizens were reduced to such degrading work. And she wasn't going to have someone clean up after her -- well, his -- mess like she was someone more important. Taking the rag, the redhead began wiping down the spilled coffee. Once the rag was soaked, she placed it on the bin a cleaning boy was carrying. She then crouched down and began picking up the shards of the cup and placing them into her opposite hand. She was irritated, and her temper was about to burst, but she kept calm, amazingly enough. 'If my coffee isn't on the table by the time I stand up, I'm going to fuck his shit up.'

That, or just the kind of person who refused help and assistance in all forms. Cain sighed, scratching the back of his head as the waitress took a step back, not wanting to anger her customer. And Cain would tap her shoulder. She would turn his head, glancing towards him. And Cain then stuck his index and middle finger out before her, gesturing a 'two'. "Two new glasses of coffee, please." The waitress nodded her head, before walking off. And Cain could only watch as she finished cleaning up the coffee. Well, perhaps he should help, right? He crouched next to her and helped pick up the shards. Part of her wanted to tell him to fuck off, but she really didn't have the energy today. This whole good behavior thing was draining. So she opted for silence as she plucked the chips and chunks of glass off the floor and placed them into the palm of her hand. Even the tiny shards couldn't escape her vision, and she got those too. Once the both of them had picked up all of the shattered glass, she walked over to the trash bin and dumped them inside before dusting her hands off. To her delight, the waitress had brought more coffee out for her. Actually, no... She had brought coffee for two. Trinity eyed the coffee cups warily and then shifted her suspecting eyes to Cain. Saying nothing, she sat down at the now dry table and picked up her cup, sipping it. She burnt her tongue but made no signs of it other than a small cringe. She glanced up to Cain and stared at him. Well. She sure as hell wasn't going to invite him to sit. Strangers didn't interest her. Especially those who went around spilling her coffee and knocking into her table. So no. She sure as hell was not going to invite him to take a seat. "You can sit if you want."

And just like she did, Cain walked over to the rubbish bin, dusting his hands off above it, making sure that every fragment of the porcelain was wiped off. And he was done. Well, that was a quick clean-up. Though, he wondered if he had cleaned himself up in her mind. He could tell that she saw him as a bother, considering how their meeting had first started off as. Cain would follow Trinity back onto the table as well, reaching into the back pocket of his pants and pulling out his wallet. His blue eyes had caught the familiar waitress from the moment he had turned around, and he knew that their orders had arrived. And whoopsydaisy, a miscalculation there. He wondered if she would led him sit opposite her, hmm? The coffee would be laid out on both sides of the table, before the two chairs, as Cain then proceeded to pay her the berries, respective to the cost of the total order. And it was a precise payment too. With the issue of change non-existent, Cain did not have to worry about looking out for her as he now focused on Trinity. What to do now? Usually, he'd have the right words to say, but curse his hang-over, he was coming up blank in every approach he thought of. "Uhmmm-" "You can sit if you want." "Oh?" Cain replied, quite surprised at the gesture, but welcomed it nonetheless. He chuckled, nodding his head, before proceeding to sit upon the chair, opposite hers. "Thank you." And with that, he would reach over the table, extending his hand towards her for a handshake, hoping at least a little bit of conversation would help redeem him in her eyes. She'd never invited someone to sit down and have coffee with her in her life. It couldn't be that she was actually lonely. No. Of course not. She was just... She was fucking insane, that's what she was. But what was done was done, and there was nothing more she could do. Well, she could punch him in the nose and tell him to go away, but that would make her look like a fool. ...Wait, when did she begin caring about what she looked like to others? Sighing irritable, she knew this place was just messing with her mind. She didn't know anything anymore. She needed to end this little vacation and head back to sea. "I'm not shaking your hand." She sipped her drink. "I'm Trinity." Last names were unnecessary, and she didn't really want to risk him being a bounty hunter and connecting her name to her bounty. Though, Trinity wasn't the most common of first names. So if he was going to draw any connections, it would be with that. Bah, whatever. Leaning back against the chair, she sipped more of her drink. It felt good. Caffeine never made her hyper, but it did wake her up a good bit. Setting the cup down, she stared at Cain. Hell no she wasn't going to continue the conversation. She settled for staring evenly at him, which may have been perceived as a death glare given her natural harsh countenance.

Just the look in his eyes told her everything. And then his comment about not having the greatest of wake-up calls confirmed it. He got shit-faced yesterday and now was paying the repercussions. Served him right. You want to get fucked up, you pay the price. Trinity very rarely drank liquor. But when she did, she didn't stop until she was pouring her heart out to random-ass strangers. That was kinda the reason she didn't really drink. Plus, staying sober meant staying alert. And when you were a pirate, you couldn't afford to have your senses dulled by alcohol. Though, with the amount of pirates that did drink, maybe there wasn't much truth to that. It seemed almost as if alcohol gave not only morale boosts, but power boosts as well. She'd seen some drunken fights in her day. They were nasty. "I'm just passing through to get to Kilauea." It was rumored they produced some of the finest weapons in the blue, and that was enough to spark her interest. Her brass knuckles were one of a kind, but she wanted to get acquainted with other types of weapons. She was so used to close-quarters combat that she felt vulnerable in any other type. And while it was good to be proficient in a certain style of fighting, it wasn't good to be ignorant in all the others. So maybe she'd take up archery for a while or even learn how to shoot a gun. If something caught her eye, she would buy it. Well. Not buy. Steal. But the point still remained the same. Sighing slightly, Trinity began to loosen up.
