"I'm done with you, piece of shit loser."
She threw the bag into his arms, standing in the alleyway at his back door. She was sick of his shit, and wasn't going to deal with it anymore. He stood there for a second, probably in shock that she was actually leaving him. She had just recovered from the bruises he gave her this time, and had a guy from work show her a few moves. If he came at her again, she could at least escape without any injuries.
"Piece of? Whore, who the hell do you think you are?"
Springing forth and dropping the bag, he grabbed her by the shoulder with one hand, and the neck by the other, slamming her against the wooden wall. As soon as he did, she felt her eyes watering up. She wasn't a fighter, she was just a journalist and waitress trying to make it in this world.
"Godda-"
She could barely breathe, and her throat burned horribly. Raising her arm, she gave a bow to his wrist, forcing him to let go. With her other hand, she tore at his eyeball, doing no serious damage, but causing him enough pain to release his grip. Sprinting out of the alleyway, she came around the corner and stepped into a corner between to pillars. Leaning against one, she took a deep breathe, and a few tears came out. She was shaken up pretty bad, and she knew where he would go. He was probably on his way to get his three friends, so they could gang up on her and "Teach her a Lesson".

Another free day and now he had the chance to come to the fabled Loguetown. Many Marines had made their mark here and even more so it was a famous location for Pirates to start their journey. He hadn't expected to run into anything exciting, more so he hoped it would just be another day. Enjoying the sites while his ship was docked and maybe get some supplies of his own.
It was the largest town the Marines had ever seen thus far, it was enormous compared to his small village that he came from. He was a bit worried with all his empty headed exploring that he might lose his Nodachi to a shift stranger. It was something he was warned about, taking valuables into a town where a pirate could be at any point. Especially his sword, as old as it was it was possibly very valuable and could be a target for anyone looking to make a few quick belli.
"Huh?"
From the corner of his eye he saw a young woman darting out of an alleyway. The fact that she was in a rush was suspicious enough but more so tat she came from a dark place such as that. He casually started to walk towards her keeping his hands to his pockets waiting for her to make the first move. There would be no effort in keeping his presence hidden but he didn't want to startle her by shouting out and demanding her attention.

It was always nice to go out and wander around town. What town it was exactly didn't matter. Every town gave the chance of meeting new people and experiencing new things. The best part was finding local secrets, like that one special cafe that no other town could possibly hope to have. Hollis was out to try and find such a cafe. He'd heard of one in the area, but he had no solid lead as to where it was located. The man was, to be quite honest, completely and utterly lost.
Hollis wasn't bothered by this fact and simply continued forth whistling to himself. At the very least, by being lost he might be able to find something even more interesting. As he walked something interesting did in fact appear in the form of an orange haired woman. It was obvious she was distressed, so the brown haired man quickly picked up his pace and called out once he was close enough. "Hey!" was all he said when he called out, his tone was cheerful.
The man didn't consider how he might startle her by calling out like that and simply continued forth. Once close enough he would cheerily try and start up conversation. "I'm a bit lost, I was wondering if you could help me out." Hollis would ask in a seemingly complete disregard for the girls obviously distressed state. In reality, he was trying to get her mind off of whatever was bothering her.

She noticed Tomaka from a distance, however did not make any gesture. She was completely unsure why he was coming over, or what he was doing, and she was still crying softly, a few tears here and there. The real thing that startled the young waitress was Hollis yelled out. She jumped slightly, facing him with her arm covering her neck.
"..Yes?"
She urged out through disgruntled sobs. As he stated his situation, she forced an apparently fake smile. Letting her arm down, she revealed the hand mark on the neck. It was already turning blue in some spots, and starting to bruise.
"S-sure. Where are you going?"

Tomaka paid little mind to the new man arriving as he grew concerned about the women as he got closer. There were a number of marks on her neck and she still seemed slightly distressed over what had happened. His eyes raised a bit showing his concern and made his presence a bit more known as he cleared his throat and came to one side of the girl.
"Miss, I saw you run from the alley. Are you ok, was someone hurting you in there"
He glanced at the other man and then back to the girl trying to figure out what the situation was. He saw him approach her but wasn't sure if they were familiar with one another or not. "Do you know her? Did you see what happened from where you were?" He turned back to the girl and sighed a bit looking closer at the wound on her neck. "I'm a Marine Officer Miss, would you mind telling me what happened so I can try to help you out?"
He contemplated going to the side and checking where she had come from to see if her assailant was there. Did she take care of him or was he going to wait for her somewhere else? Was it just a random attack or did she know the man at all? He wanted to lend her a hand if he could but he was trying not to come off too strong.

Hollis noticed the mark on her neck, but didn't mention it. He was going to keep his plan of changing the subject up. He figured that if she was distressed then she'd probably only get even more distressed by someone making a deal of it. The brunette started to speak, but he was instead startled by another voice. A male one. If it wasn't for what the voice said he might have thought the the male was the attacker. Luckily, it didn't seem like like he was.
The brunette would turn to look over the new arrival. The other man was quite good looking and the fact that he came over to help out a girl in need was certainly a turn on. For a moment, Hollis was distracted by the raven haired man. A marine too? Hollis wondered what fleet he was on and how he could get on it as well. "I don't, I just met her." he said answering the questions that the other man asked. "I'm so glad a marine showed up, you have wonderful timing~" he said with a slight grin.
It was a bit dickish to want to flirt with the man while there was a poor girl in need, but Hollis couldn't help himself. The man was here to help and there was no telling when Hollis' next chance to meet with the man again. Though, it could quite possibly be soon since they were both marines.

There were one to many questions being thrown at her, and much to quickly. She knew he had a job to do, but she didn't ask for his help. "I'm fine okay? He just got angry, and it doesn't matter because I'm done with him." She stepped away and looked at the two guys, noticing the one man's disposition for the other. She didn't see it coming, that was for sure, but he wasn't being out in the open about it. She was pretty keen to things like that.
"Any of you know any boats, cheap, leaving for South Blue?" She wanted out of here, away from him, away from her place, to start new.
