♕ WE'RE TAKING CONTROL we get what we want, we do what you don't, dirt and glitter cover the floor, we're pretty and sick, we're young and we're bored
God damn was Rafi late for work; the male rose out of his bed, the sun shinning through the window and nonchalantly striking him across the face. His hand rose behind his head, rubbing the back of his neck while he stretched out some. He was exceptionally tired because of the night before; his exhaustion had caught up to him and made him late for work today. It was a pain, but he knew he couldn't sleep in. Staggering out of bed, he let the sheets fall toward the floor exposing his body. No, he wasn't nude. He wore sweat pants to bed. Regardless, he tried to hurry and get to the shower. Once in the shower, he would quickly get himself cleaned up and ready to go.
Moments later he emerged in a towel and then began to look for something to wear. "Ugh, too tired for this shit..," he whined as he pulled out something fairly simple to wear. A black button up and (which he would keep un-tucked) and a pair of black pants which he wore to go with it. It was just something to wear to get him through the day. He really didn't care for fashion or anything, at least not for work. Nevertheless, the male would leave his home. The bar wasn't far from where he lived and thankfully, the day was pretty decent. The weather was nice and the sky didn't have many clouds over Toroa. He walked through the town, fixing his hair, putting it in his little pony tail that was his style. Soon enough, he saw the bar not far from where he was.
He was still trying to hurry, albeit he was still tired. He opened the door to the bar and looked around. Luckily it wasn't a busy day, but surely the people would be flooding in later. He looked around, spotting another one of the bartenders who was here by himself for the past hour. Rubbing the back of his head, he spoke out. "Sorry I'm late," he said grinning. "Had a.. busy night last night and kind of slept in." He walked behind the counter, looking around at any customer that hasn't seemed to be attended. There were a few, but only certain ones drew his attention. Smiling, he turned to the first customer which was a female and spoke out.
"What can I get for you?"

[atrb=valign,top][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,300,true][atrb=style,padding: 10px; border-radius: 0px;]How pathetic this little town was in the day time. When the sun was out, the evil stayed indoors. Travelers saw the beauty and wonders of the town. There were plays to see, museums to walk through, and wonderful food to eat. But as soon as the sun set, it seemed like the figurative darkness followed the actual darkness. The town turned into a crime funnel at night. Drug tradings could be done at the complex on Worchester, prostitutes could be found along the streets up in Northern Toroa, and any gentleman's club held a number of covert illegal trading meetings. But Pirates came here, and that's all she needed to stay.
Kali stared at herself in the mirror. Light bags hung under her eyes, and she pulled down on them to scrutinize the circles. Sighing, she brushed out her hair and put it up into a pony tail. Even up in the hairband, the purple tresses still extended to her waist. She slipped into her black dress that was very casual and plain but complimenting of her form. Kali slipped her money into her bra and stuffed her shuriken and pocket knife in her black boots and then left her small townhouse to enter the busy streets of Toroa. The sun beat down on her, and she smiled slightly. Despite the secrecy this place harbored, it was still very pretty. Plus, Kali had just turned in a sizable bounty yesterday and had some spending money.
First, a drink.
She pushed her way through the crowded streets and decided to try out a bar. Kali wasn't much of a drinker, mostly because she could never afford to spend money on such useless things. But it was time to try new things, even if she thought alcohol was completely stupid. One rum and coke wouldn't hurt. And plus... Bars were where tough people went, right? She was tough. The toughest. Yeah. The purple-haired female stood in front of the bar entrance for a good five minutes debating on whether or not to actually enter. Finally, she just decided to burst in and headed for a bar stool. She sat and waited. And waited. ...And waited. After what seemed like an eternity, a brown-haired barman asked if she wanted anything. Kali cleared her throat.
"I have the uh. The uhm." Shit. A cool people drink. Think, Kali. She tucked her bangs behind her ear and let out a haughty huff."The usual." | [atrb=valign,top][atrb=style,width:103px; padding: 0px; ] |

♕ WE'RE TAKING CONTROL we get what we want, we do what you don't, dirt and glitter cover the floor, we're pretty and sick, we're young and we're bored
To his surprise was a rare site. A young and quite attractive female who Rafael hadn't really seen much around here. She was a customer though, and like all other customers, Rafi needed to attend to her. Awaiting the girls response, he rolled his neck around, loosening up for the shift to come. On the plus side, he only had to work a couple of hours before calling it a day. On the negative side, he was going to have another long evening. He shook his head lightly, breaking him free from his reveries. Her voice would then come into play. Rafi was easily able to tell, at least with how she acted ordering the drink, that the bar scene wasn't where she fit in. Regardless, Rafi would react.
"The usual, huh?," he replied. "Considering I haven't had the pleasure of seeing you here, what might the usual be?," he would ask, both his hands along the counter top of the bar. He wondered though. The way this young female seemed to dress was clearly that of someone who didn't frequent the bars. So exactly who was she fooling? She may have been a light drinker, but Rafael was able to tell that she was simply experimenting. At least, so he thought. Regardless of his own thoughts on the matter, the male pulled out a glass and simply decided on fixing her a drink. Something simple; being in the great pirate age, rum was always the more favorable of the drinks. Mix that with cola and there you had it.
"Forget it," he said as he poured the two liquids together in the glass. Handing it to her, he continued. "Here you go. Tell me if you want something else." Rafael turned his back toward the female, looking over toward the glasses that needed to be washed. Handling his duties, washing some of the glasses and setting the clean ones aside. As he did this, he continued to speak out toward the girl. "You know, you don't seem like the type to come to the bars. So what brings you here today?," he asked, trying to start what would hopefully be a friendly conversation.

[atrb=valign,top][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,300,true][atrb=style,padding: 10px; border-radius: 0px;]Kali scoffed to cover up her embarrassment. She thought there might be a typical drink people bought when they came to a bar. She had had one in mind on the way but forgot what it was. When she saw him mix two drinks together, she instantly remember. Rum and coke. Damn it, why hadn't she remembered that? It would've sounded a lot cooler if she had just said it. Rubbing her right temple in a circular motion, she sighed and took the drink. She offered a faint smile that faded in a millisecond and picked up the glass. Sniffing it subtly, Kali could smell the foulness. People really thought this was appealing? God, her breath was going to wreak.
Taking a sip, Kali had to resist the urge to gag. Even watered down with cola, it tasted disgusting. It burned in her throat, and it was hard to remove the deep frown from her face. She took another "big" sip only to find out it was a very small sip. The glass was as full as it was when she got it. She eyed the bartender and made sure his back was turned before pinching her nose and downing a few gulps. Bad idea. Setting the cup down, Kali grabbed her throat and turned to the side, half-expecting to throw up. When she didn't, she sighed and turned back toward the cup, eyeing it like the demon it was. People drank multiple glasses of this stuff...every day. How ridiculous.
"What would make you think that I don't? I come here a lot actually. Just during the times you're not here, obviously. In fact, I'm famous here. Best drinker around." | [atrb=valign,top][atrb=style,width:103px; padding: 0px; ] |

Who was she kidding? Rafael pondered that thought over to himself, smiling as he continued to wash out glasses. It was really amusing to see the type of people that entered the bar he worked at. More often then not, the people that did choose this place to drink were pirates, bounty hunters and the occasional marine. Rafi had been living in Toroa for quite some time, so he knew how this place changed during the times of day. The facade during the day faded once the sun went down. Rafi was a simple man though who learned to deal with it. Hell, hes even worked during the night time. It was definitely a unique experience. Regardless, he continued to clean the glasses.
Raising a glass up, he looked at it making sure he wasn't missing a spot when he was washing it. He was fortunate enough to be able to see through the reflection given off by the glass, the girl 'sipping' on the liquor. He played it off, keeping the glass up long enough to see her go as far as to pinch her nose. Exactly who was she trying to fool? He smiled, shaking his head lightly before setting the glass back down to the counter. Turning back to face the purple haired vixen, Rafael would begin to listen to her words. She seemed to be highly defensive about herself. Rafi smiled upon hearing her speak out. He even went as far as to laugh a bit hearing her final comment. "Best drinker, eh?," he replied. Clearly she was lying. "So that's why you struggled downing that drink right?," he continued, jokingly commenting to her.
He placed his hands on the counter top and focused on her while there were no others customers needing attention. He was amused that she was trying hard to show off a cool side of herself. He was a bit curious as to why she was doing that though, if there was any reason. He wouldn't question it, but rather ask something else. "Care for a different drink?" Maybe something she could handle. "..Or is the best drinker here okay with what she has?," he continued only to await her response.
