WEST BLUE - OHARA
Word Count: 753
My boat finally came as it landed on shore, the situation of which I had earlier had become non-existent as I was ready for my own calling. The calling of the ocean compelling me, I pressed my hands against the vessel as I closed my eyes, carrying my bag over my shoulder as I went on to the wooden plank and sighed deeply. I was going to miss this place, long after I said my goodbyes... except for traveling from my home island, Kilaeua, I had never been off this island. I took a deep sigh, knowing a man wasn't supposed to cry under any circumstances, I knew I could be shamed for it. My eyes closed once more, my friends, my allies, my heart and soul... It was going to move on.
Beginning to make my move onto the ship I heard a loud scream of my name, knowing who it was. I turned my head to see my sensei, Kokoro. She stopped as she placed both hands on her body, I watched her with a small frown. She would stand firm after a moments notice. Beginning to look at him with a frown on her face, and fierce eyes. She'd start to move forward. I watched her and moved towards her as well, looking back at the boat as more people began to come aboard.
"Ryusei..."
I listened to her, her voice sounding sad as her expression would slowly I knew what she would say. A smile appeared on my face as she was about to say it and with my own lips I'd speak the words for her... She stopped talking choked up at the moment trying to release the words to speak
"I'll miss you as well... You don't gotta worry about me, I'll be fine, Kokoro-sensei..."
Her cheeks were flushed as she punched me in my head with a overheard left. My head began to feel a great deal of pain, I grasped my head. Slowly, the tears would flow from her eyes, beginning to cry, placing tears against the sandy beach making patches of light wet areas. This was the first time... I've ever seen her cry about anything, ever. And with a soft low voice, she would begin speaking herself, I cringed with one eye open.
"You idiot... call me Sango... We're no longer just master and student, we're family..."
Slowly the tears stopped flowing, as she looked at him. Her face was in a large smile, her eyes weighed as she seemed to be able to pull herself back together. These words made me blush, my mouth open widely. I could never express my words right, I could never say what was on my mind correctly towards situations like this. It was always a hassle and I disliked it, but it was true. She was my family now, and also a rival of which I needed to defeat. But she'd always be family first and be someone that I needed to best second. When I counted the times she was there for me, I didn't have enough fingers. Because even if I was a dumbass, someone who went into things without thinking, or did things like face off against masters while I was only a novice, she gave advice, she helped me, she was like a sister... she was family.
As she hugged me deeply, after I tried to express myself with these ridiculous faces and stupid actions. All it took was a hug, to make that all go away. And with the loss of my words came more of hers.
"Don't forget, to come back... if you die even once, I'll kill you."
And with that notion, she punched my arm, I gripped the spot, her strength as great as ever as she punched into my arm. Nothing more needed to be said. The horn sounded as everything came into fruition. I heard the ship's captain start to yell, "All Aboard!", with this would start walking up the wooden closing. And with this. A lever would be pulled to close it. As I watched my master stand there, waving her arms. I'd think back to my father and all his teachings and my sister and all our confrontations. I'd smile widely. Showing such a large grin, that I would probably look extremely goofy right about now. But I didn't care... Because now, I would be a marine. And that... that would only make this smile more enjoyable.
And with this, my journey would commence.
