So, civilians are regular Joes and Janes that, for whatever reason, don't have a stake in the whole "Pirates vs. Marines" thing. I notice, though, that they are the only group that does not have a level up guide. Is that because there is no one way for a civilian to gain levels (they would have to take their cues from the closest class from any of the other faction), or because they are not expected to have any sort of significant stake in the site's battles, and therefore have no need to go beyond a level one [Whatever their job is]?
Suppose, for instance, one were to make a civilian whose job was "soldier" or "knight" or "surly, half-drunken old man who picks fights because he's bored." Jobs that might very well put our hero in the proverbial line of fire. How does one determine how that character gets stronger, if at all?

this is currently on the checklist of things that need to be discussed. however, it is really hard to make a level-up guide for civilians when the class in itself is so vastly different. everyone has different professions, so we need something that will work globally and not just for one type of civilian. so the staff will be trying to address this issue in the near future.
