You state that there's only two basic weapons to start with, so how does that effect a bowman or someone who uses throwing knives. It kind of effects me because I have a planned character who's a bowman AND one that is a knife thrower. xD

you just have to be sensible about the arrows. say a quiver of arrows (with what, twenty arrows capacity?) would be one weapon slot, and the bow would be the other. as for the throwing knives, i guess we could be lenient and allow you to have two basic throwing knives per weapons slot, and then you'd have to buy the rest.
