Killauea. A place she had been twice in her past. This was her third visit and she wasn't going to stay long. She had left the stolen marine ship and Cain. It was best though that the two of them got out of here as soon as possible in case the ship was tracked. After a night's sleep she headed down to the docks. It was quiet that early in the morning, but there were a few ships. Most seemed to be small travel boats ferrying between the islands of North Blue. However, she had spent all her life in the North and now she wanted to go somewhere new and have an adventure. Two ships were large enough to be travelling to another blue and after a little bit of flirting and talking she found out one was heading to West Blue and the other to East Blue. She sat down and thought it through for a while. Then she remembered something about East Blue. Baratie. The floating restaurant ship that held many elite cooks. That settled it.
"I'm going East." she said out loud and walked over to the ship that was heading off to East Blue. It was called the Soaring Shark. A nice name for a ship, but the image it put into her head did not match the ship at all. It was big, it was dirty and it was basically a freight transporter. She walked over to the ship and spoke to some of the people. It seemed the only way to get aboard was to work on the ship during the journey. It didn't seem like a bad thing. After all, she'd need the experience if she was to join a crew. She asked to speak to the captain.
"So you want to travel with us to the East Blue" The man stated twirling his rather long and elegant moustache. "I only allow workers on my ship. What can you offer me?"
"I'm a cook by trade, but i'm also a lot stronger then I look. If I wanted to I could probably take on most of the people on this ship and win." She shrugged and grinned. "But not only would that be a lot of effort it would create a lot of discontent and I don't want my throat slit because of some bad blood so cook would be preferable. If not i'll do whatever you've got." The man laughed and it was a big booming laugh.
"Well, it seems you've got spirit and more importantly you have some skills that would be useful for this journey. Our last cook wasn't much good and we had to let him go." the man arched his hands. "So I hope you do a better job Catherine. Your the ship's cook for the duration of this journey." She nodded and thanked the man. "Go and find the kitchen. We'll be setting sail in one hour." With that she headed off to find the kitchen.

The journey was rather uneventful for the most. However, she found a few recipe books on board and copied the recipes into her own, much larger and hand-written, recipe book. She had two of these. One was for recipes she had decided she liked and the other was for recipes she had not yet tried or needed improvement. Yes, her journey to the East Blue was very uneventful indeed. When she arrived the ship docked at Loguetown, which was good for her as she knew how good the market was meant to be. It would definitely be a good place to visit whilst she looked for a crew.
Loguetown was an interesting place to say the least. It had a vast market which she would explore and try to get some ingredients and recipes. It was also the point many people docked before trying to head over the reverse mountain. If she couldn't find a crew in Partia this seemed to be the most likely place. As she left the ship she heard a voice shout down to her. She turned and looked up to see the captain throw a money purse at her.
"Your pay for the voyage, plus a bit extra for some damn fine cooking." he said with a wide grin. "Are you sure you can't stay and be a permanent cook for us Catherine?"
"The offer is tempting Captain, but I want to develop my skills even further and for that I need to travel a lot more. Maybe we'll meet again in the future." she replied pocketing the purse and walking away. She had expected a small payment for working, but suspected most of it to pay her travel fare. It seemed the Captain of the Soaring Shark was a generous man. She was quite happy as now she was out of North Blue and away from those particular marines. It was a whole new adventure for her and she had some money now to buy some ingredients. It was all going well. With a final wave to the ship's crew she headed off planning to walk down to the market.
